PRESCHOOL 3?S: Thanksgiving will be our theme this week! We have plans for
Thanksgiving books, songs, art, and cooking! Also, letters Aa-Ll will be reviewed, as well as, numbers 1-7, colors Red, Blue, Orange and Brown and shapes Circle, Triangle, Square and Rectangle. The children may bring anything that begins with letters A-L for
Show-n-Tell on Friday. Just be sure to know what letter it begins with! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
PRESCHOOL 4?S: We are having a wonderful week so far! We started our "We Are So Thankful" unit on Monday and are having a great time learning about The First Thanksgiving. There are many Thankgiving crafts we are working on to go along with our unit. In addition to our unit, we are reviewing our letters, numbers, and short vowels sounds. Happy Birthday to Mallory McIlwain today!!! She will provide pizza and cake
on Wednesday for our lunch. If your child will not eat pizza please send a lunch for them. My new school email address is lisa.falkenheiner@trinitysaints.org. Please feel free to send me a message this way. I will do my best to check it every day. Show and
Tell on Friday can be anything you feel thankful for. Have a "Thankful" week and enjoy your holiday next week.
KINDERGARTEN: Way to go Hope and Isaac Haygood! (they took Brownie Bear home on Friday) Show and Tell for this week will be themed letter Ll. Thanksgiving Feast today! If you have any books about Thanksgiving, please send them (make sure their name is in them). We will be discussing the Holiday and things that we are thankful for the rest of the week.
1ST GRADE: We will be halfway through this year before you know it! Time is really flying. We have been talking about the first Thanksgiving and looking at slide shows depicting it. (on internet) We are learning about what it means to be truly thankful. Remember to drill the math family facts sheet that was sent home last week and keep going over the word lists that have been sent home. A new list will go home right after Christmas. Thanks for all you parents do to help. I know how busy you are! I would like to take our class to sing Christmas carols in the community. If you are willing to drive, please let me know. I want to try to schedule the outing for the week we get out for the holidays. My Thursday tutoring class will no longer be open to everyone. I'm sorry to do this, but I really need to spend some time with the students who are truly needing it. I will let you know if your student needs to attend. Notes about that will go out today. Thanks!
Please read all Tuesday notes. Have a great week!
2ND GRADE: Thanksgiving week is almost here. We have been talking in class about things we are thankful for. I am thankful to be able to teach your children once again. We are moving right along. The spelling words this week are math terms that we need to know how to spell. Our story this week is "Watermelon Day". We continue to work on new diagraphs. Please make sure your child reads the story each week and ask them questions about the story. Our test scores from last week were a little disappointing. We are still working on addition and subtraction families from 1-12. When we return after Thanksgiving we will be starting a Christmas theme of Christmas around the world. If you have anything from another country about Christmas let me know. Have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
3rd GRADE: This week our class will be having a TALENT SHOW in conjunction with our reading story. I sent a note home yesterday asking whether or not your child will be participating in this event. If your child is planning on being a part of the show, I need to have the slip returned by Wednesday with a brief description of what their talent presentation will be. The talent show will be very, very simple.....NO STRESS!!!! I encourage all the students to be a part of it, but it is their choice. Remember that the N1H1 flu shots are being given tomorrow. If you want your child to receive this vaccination, please make sure to fill out the necessary forms. Be sure to check with your child about needed school supplies. Most of the children are finishing up the four spiral notebooks they brought at the beginning of the school year. If you would like to send several notebooks on now, I will be happy to store them until they are needed in the future. You might also check on pencils and crayons. Finally, I want to thank Savanna's mother for providing us with a pizza party on Friday. The children earned this party by receiving over 40 compliments during the last six weeks for their good behavior. WAY TO GO, THIRD GRADE !!!! I am so proud of you !!!!!!
4th GRADE: We are winding down to our Thanksgiving Holidays! There will be a Science and MS History test this week. Check with your child on the dates! A Study Guide will be given in MS History only. Our regular Reading and Spelling tests will be Friday as usual. Also, I sent home a Music letter from Mrs. King about our upcoming Christmas Program. Those of you that have not seen it, please sign and return it by the end of this week. Thanks! Group Picture Day has been changed to December 3, 2009. The swine flu shot will be given tomorrow, Wednesday. If you have not sent in this form, and want your child to have this shot, please do so in the morning. Please encourage your child to read over the Thanksgiving break. Only three children have completed their goal thus far. I would like the whole class to make their goal. I know that they can do it! I hope each of you have a very safe and BLESSED Thanksgiving. We have so... much to be thankful for! |
